Funky Fall Favorites!

This fall is all about  funky trends that I am absolutely loving. When it comes to fashion, I love experimenting, stepping out of the box, and trying new things – it’s all about having fun!

Here are some fab new ways to update your fall closets:

1. Heel-less Platforms

The heel-less plaform is fun, sexy, edgy, and HOT! I absolutely love it! All thanks to Lady Gaga for making us all go gaga over these shoes. Lady Gaga was audacious enough to first step out in a pair. They may seem impossible to walk in, but I recently invested in a pair myself and they have proven to be quite easy, especially if you are used to strutting around in 5in heels.

Here are some great finds for less:

leather heel-less peep-toe platforms

Leather Heel-less Peep Toe Platforms – $42

spiked heel-less platforms

Spiked Heel-less Platforms – $68

Lace Up Platform – $195

2. Studded Pointed Pumps

Rock out this season in pointed pumps covered in studs. The spiked and studded trend isn’t a complete newbie, but it definitely is making a statement this fall. It adds the right amount of edge and fierceness to your look. My favorite is a pair of pointed black pumps with gold studs/spikes all over. They are definitely my go to pair for this fall!

This is the pair I have from Steve Madden and they are on sale now! – $89.98

Studded Pumps with Ankle Straps – $99

Galactic Studded Court Heels – $120

3. Studded Leather Gloves

I’ve always loved gloves. A few years back I styled gloves with almost all my fall outfits. A little obsessed, I know. But now they’re making a come back with a chic and edgy twist. Once again we are seeing studs take over. Studded leather gloves are the perfect accessory to your fall outfit. Not only do they keep your fingers cozy, but they always vamp up your look. Perhaps bring out our inner Michael Jacksons as well?

Here are some pocket friendly finds:

TOUCH - Studded leather gloves

Touch Studded leather Gloves – $79.99

River Island Black Leather Studded Glove – $48

Leather All over Studs Glove – $61.57

4. Wedge Sneakers

I must admit, I’m really not a sneakers kind of gal. Anything with a 5in heel is my best friend. However, I am really liking the revamped sneaker – it’s comfortable and casual, yet stylishly sexy with its hidden wedge heel. This fall is all about comfort combined with chicness, and what better way to update your closet than by adding this piece to it. You can pair these sneakers with skirts, skinny jeans, shorts, leggings and more! The options are endless!

Here are some great finds:

Studded Black Wedge Sneaker – $99.90

Isa Wedge Sneaker

Isa Wedge Sneaker – $295

Bowie Suede Wedge Sneakers – $195

Falling in love with Marchesa’s Indian Inspired Spring 2013 Collection

How do you not fall in love after seeing a Marchesa collection? Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are not only the designer masterminds behind the brand, but they are fabric connoisseurs, embroidery experts, and exquisite drapists as well.

Vibrant colors, intricate embroideries, sari drapery, and gold embellishments best describes how the collection embraced everything India. Last year we saw Karl Lagerfeld adorn the Chanel collection with beautiful Indian jewelry after being inspired by the Indian Maharajas and their elegant jewels. Chapman and Craig’s inspiration came from a slightly different place – the Sixties, when the Beatles turned to the Maharishi as their spiritual guru.

Even the jewelry and purses in the show were completely Indian inspired. Models wore Polki style Indian jewelry and carried beaded Indian Potli style bags. The entire collection was paired with custom brocade or jewel encrusted Christian Louboutin heels.

Here are some of my favorite pieces from the collection:

Absolutely LOVE the intricately embellished churidar style pants!

Jewel-encrusted Christian Louboutin Pointed Pumps

Love the Indian Polki jewelry

Model carrying a Potli Style bag

2 Piece Indian Lengha style ensemble

Love the peek-a-boo use of lace on this draped sari look

NYFW Spring 2013 Trend Spotting!

As we prepare ourselves for the onset of fall furs and peacoats, New York Fashion Week has already started gearing us towards Spring 2013. The runways proved to be nothing short of amazing, and there were some definite trends making major headlines. Here’s a look at some of my favorite Spring trends that are a must have for next season! Take some notes ladies, and start vamping up your spring closets from now to get yourself ahead of the game!

1. Spring 2013 Color Palette:

love, love, LOVE the clever use of color by DVF. Miss Furstenberg is a true fashion genius!

Absolutely love the juxtaposition of bold hues with neutral shades as it provides for a harmonious combination. The Spring 2013 color palette has a little something for everyone. The runways were filled with vibrancy and versatile looks created by fabulous color combinations.

2. Patriotic Colors and Combos:

Red, White, and Blue were all over the Spring runways. Whether these hues solely graced the runway, or whether they were combined, the trio of colors was pure perfection. I absolutely love this bold and chic amalgamation of colors.

3. STRIPES

From skinny, to wide, to geometric and MORE! Stripes were everywhere to be seen for Spring 2013. I especially love it on the Tommy Hilfiger sleek one piece swimsuit. The stripes trend gives a sense of imprisonment behind bars with a chic fashion twist!

4. PRINTS GALORE:

Floral and Digital prints were huge on the Spring runways. These sundry prints were bright and bold. Rodarte’s use of prints was especially appetizing as multiple vibrant prints were used to create a powerful ensemble.

5. Slouchy Chic

Wide-legged pants, harem pants, and loose caftans were spotted in various designer collections. DVF’s take on this slouchy chic trend was the best of the lot. Her use of color and detailing completely updated these 70s silhouettes with a modern twist.

6. Romantic Lace

Lace is back ladies! Whether it was black lace or colored, the looks were both romantic and edgy. Designers sparingly worked lace in to their pieces in order to spice up their looks. Jason Wu’s lace insets were particularly eye-catching and sexy!

7. Gladiator Inspired Shoes:

All I can say is HOT, and I WANT THEM NOW! Absolutely love the return of gladiator style shoes. These knee grazing pieces are edgy, dramatic, and daring, and they completely transform your look. Make sure to get your hands on a pair before next Spring!

8. Pointed Pumps:

The pointer the hotter! The pointed pump trend has started to pick up again for Fall, and now we’re are seeing it for Spring as well. The sharper the point, the more elongated and slender your legs look. Designers have now revamped the pointed pump by adding ankle straps, contrasting colored tips, and fancy detailing for an edgier appeal. LOVE!

Start working some of these trends in to your looks now!

Which trend is your favorite?

TREND ALERT! Wine and Dine in BURGUNDY this FALL!

Spotted all over the Fall runways, this sexy hue is the best way to update an outfit this fall. Add a wine colored bag or shoe, or spice up your look with intense Bordeaux lips. Burgundy is the new neutral and can even be worn from head-to-toe without being considered too much. Its intense color provides for a chic, edgy, and versatile look, and can even be paired nicely with many colors. Burgundy is a rich, luxurious color, and is a nice medium between stark red and banal black.

Blake Lively stunned in a sleek wine-colored Gucci mini at the Gucci Premier fragrance launch a few days ago. The embellished mini was complimented with strappy burgundy sandals by Gucci as well.

Timeless Treasures: The Ever-Chic Louis Vuitton Shawl

We all love our mother’s old classic “hand me downs”. Be it a vintage jacket, strings of pearls, diamonds, or classic bags, some pieces are so luxurious and timeless that they are worthy of being collected over the years and passed down to your beloved as family treasures. For Reneta and I, such a piece which speaks of years of tradition and luxury, a piece that stands for legacy, is that from the house of LOUIS VUITTON.

Today’s featured treasures are our Louis Vuitton Shawls. They come in vivid colors, from soft romantic pastels such as a white, baby pink, mint green, light powder blue, and yummy mango yellow, to bold glamorous colors of red, grapevine purple, coal black, cocoa brown with hints of fiery gold work, and many more! These shawls are a must have fashion accessory. They not only make a simple outfit look so glamorous and rich, but they also add a CLASSIC CHICNESS to your entire ensemble.

These are not only gorgeous threads bound together but pieces of art as well. They keep you very warm and cozy while making you look sexy and classy. What else can a girl ask for?

Here are a few of our own  LV shawls that we absolutely LOVE!

Here are few ways how we like to wear them:

1. CASUAL CHIC: Jeans + Shirt + LV Shawl

2. SUMMER CHIC: Summer Dress + LV Shawl

3. RED CARPET GLAM: Gown + LV Shawl

Whether you fancy a bold statement hue or a more subtle neutral shade, there’s a shawl for everyone! All you need is one to transform all your outfits!

Chanel Resort 2013 Collection

Mary Antoinette meets rocker chick meets anime – this sums up the over the top, futuristic, and whimsical Karl Lagerfeld Resort 2013 collection for Chanel. I’m not gonna lie, but I’m kind of obsessed.

images via: seaofshoes.com

Mr. Lagerfeld always knows how to turn it up a notch season after season. He presented his collection at Versailles inspired by 18th Century France. The collection was comprised of florals, pastels, rococo silhouettes, intricate embroideries and embellishments. This ultra theatrical collection which was paired with colorful wigs, flouncy skirts, and thick soled shoes is the epitome of a fashion trendsetting.

Color Obsession: BABY BLUE!

Fresh, light, and airy, BABY BLUE was all over the SPRING 2012 runways. From Chanel to Versace, designers strongly embraced this pastel shade from dresses, to jackets, to accessories and more! I absolutely LOVE this hue as it can be worn both during the day and night with an air of sophistication. Also, baby blue can be paired easily with many shades. Whether it’s with another pastel shade, a bolder color, or even tone on tone, baby blue is chic in all senses.

You can spice up your baby blue ensemble by pairing it with silver, glitter, and/or some bling. This will give it a touch of richness, elegance, and glam!

Chanel’s Spring 2012 handbags collection features a gorgeous powder blue purse that is definitely a collectors piece. Having a great accent hand bag is great for transforming a simple outfit in to a statement look.

Inspired by this soft shade, I decided to create a nail art design with baby blue, silver, and glitter nail polish (seen below to your right). It’s always fun painting your nails one shade and having one or two accent nails for added drama.

Say goodbye to Monday blues and hello to BABY BLUE!

HAIR TREND: This Season is All About Fun BRAIDS!

Oh how the pig-tail braids from our preschool years have evolved and transformed into such a trend for this season. The longer and the more tousled and romantic, the sexier the do! From fishtails, to french braids, to the waterfall, to mini braids interwoven in to the hair, to braids tucked in to buns, to the crown braid and MORE, everyone is having a plait party and braids are kinda a big deal this season. Even celebrities have joined the plait party!

Dianna Agron rocking the fishtail braid

Sienna Miller is wearing a bohemian braided headband up do
