IT’S A NEON PARTY + NEON DIY NAILS!

Recent obsession: NEON! It’s bold, its fun, its potent, and its SEXY! We saw splashes of this bright, daring hue all over the spring runways. From Oscar De La Renta, to Nanette Lepore, to Jason Wu, to Luca Luca, NEON made major headlines.

Because spring is all about COLOR, wearing a head-to-toe neon ensemble won’t be considered a bit much, but rather, you’ll be making a statement the second you walk in to a room. But if you’re not feeling so daring, pair some fun neon pieces with more muted tones such as whites or browns, or enhance the look even further by contrasting it with bold magentas and aquas.

A few weeks back I did a post on office chic where my outfit had splashes of neon. Check it out! As you can see, a few neon pieces go a long way and add that extra umph to your outfit.

NEON MUST HAVES: chunky accessories, bags, statement heels, and skinny jeans. WHY? Because they can be worn in so many ways and they spice up any outfit in an instant!

OFFICE CHIC! Polka Dots, Neons, and Florals!

SPRING: All about polka dots juxtaposed with splashes of neon, and neutrals complimented with floral prints!

Who said you can’t have a little fun dressing up in the morning for work? This spring give your skinnys a break and sink in to a fun pair of wide leg high-waisted pants. Add a skinny belt around the waist to bring a little definition and curve to your body. Not only is this silhouette flattering, but it is also creates the perfect day to night outfit! Lastly, don’t forget to add a pop of color to your look. I went for a vibrant jacket and matching heels to pull the look together.

Floral printed dresses are also a must have for spring. They’re flirty, chic, and when paired with a leather jacket, they’ve now got that edge!

My ensemble: Neon jacket by Elizabeth and James, Neon Heels from Zara, Polka Dot Wide leg Pants by Trouvé, Black tank top by Twenty, Bow Belt, Chanel Purse, Cuff by BEBE, and Collared Necklace from Bloomingdales.

Urvika’s ensemble: Wrap Floral Print Dress by Indian designer Piya Pauro, Fresh water pearls necklace, Brown Leather Jacket by M&M from U.K., Heels from Zara, Moschino Purse.

EMBRACE THE POLKA DOT! DIY DOT ON NAILS!

Lately I have become quite obsessed with polka dots – they’re fun, flirty, and you can create so many cute looks!

Kate Spade’s latest collection has the cutest polka dot iphone and laptop cases, and the entire collection embraces the look as well. LOVE! Bold pops of color and neon splashes complement a chic black and white polka dot skirt. I love working opposite pieces together – a leather jacket adds a little bit of edge to this playful ensemble. Add some fun accessories and you’re ready to go rock the town!

All you need now are some fun nails to go with this look:

1.  Loreal Nail Lacquer in “Now you sea me – 530”

2. OPI Nail Lacquer in “Alpine Snow – Matter”

3. Sally Hansen “Dries Instantly” Top Coat

4. Sally Hansen “No More Mistakes” (to clean up any mistakes – use as needed)

5. Nail Decorator Tool (or toothpick with circular base)

6. Paper Towel

Always remember: have fun with this whimsical pattern – mix, match, and be BOLD!
