BEAUTY TIP #2: HONEY KISSED OATMEAL SCRUB

Spring is in and so is soft kissable skin! Or should we say yummy skin with our nourishing, delicious, and oh so simple honey kissed oatmeal scrb. This scrub is easy to make and the results are dewy, clean skin!

So our lovelies, this is all you need…

1. Oatmeal.   2. Honey.   3. Unsalted Almonds.   4. Grinding Machine.   5. Cold Milk or Cold Rose Water depending on skin type (these products not shown above)

Step 1: Take 4 teaspoons of the oatmeal and 9 unsalted almonds and mix both ingredients in the grinder to a fine mixture as shown in the picture below.

Step 2: Next, take 2 teaspoons of honey and add it to the mixture of grounded almonds and oatmeal.

Step 3: Add Milk (if you have extra dry skin) OR Rose Water (if you have sensitive skin or an oily “T’ zone) to the mixture and stir to create a consistency like cake batter. Make sure it isn’t too watery. See picture below.

Step 4: Wash face clean and apply scrub on to face and neck. Let sit for 5 minutes.

Step 5: Using lukewarm water, gently begin scrub your face and neck in a circular motion. Wash off the rest of the scrub with lukewarm water. Please do not use soap.

Step 6: Pat your skin dry and enjoy clean, soft, kissable skin!

This scrub is so gentle that it can be used every other day and on any part of the body, for example, hands, elbows, etc.

Why this scrub is amazing: oats are great for skin glow, honey locks in moisture, almonds rub off dead skin, milk adds moisture to parched skin, and rose water soothes, tones, and refreshes skin.

Enjoy nature and its treasures and look totally radiant and dewy for your oh so dreamy spring dates!

Fall 2012 Color Story

image via: pantone.com

So glad to see that there will so much color for this fall! As we saw in my Fall 2012 Fashion Round Up post, bold colors are here to stay. From neon fur pieces to geometric color blocking, the fall runways were beaming with color. Also, Tangerine Tango makes a return and we are not complaining. I’ve had so much filling my closet with this hue, whether it is statement shoes, fun accessories, or colorful dresses, tangerine tango just brightens up every look. From brights and bolds, to soft and pastel, this skillful palette is a success because it has a little bit of everything for everyone. The key is to mix, match, and contrast! I would love to pair Ultramarine Green with Titanium, and Tangerine Tango with French Toast.

It’s all about experimenting and having fun this fall!

OFFICE CHIC! Polka Dots, Neons, and Florals!

SPRING: All about polka dots juxtaposed with splashes of neon, and neutrals complimented with floral prints!

Who said you can’t have a little fun dressing up in the morning for work? This spring give your skinnys a break and sink in to a fun pair of wide leg high-waisted pants. Add a skinny belt around the waist to bring a little definition and curve to your body. Not only is this silhouette flattering, but it is also creates the perfect day to night outfit! Lastly, don’t forget to add a pop of color to your look. I went for a vibrant jacket and matching heels to pull the look together.

Floral printed dresses are also a must have for spring. They’re flirty, chic, and when paired with a leather jacket, they’ve now got that edge!

My ensemble: Neon jacket by Elizabeth and James, Neon Heels from Zara, Polka Dot Wide leg Pants by Trouvé, Black tank top by Twenty, Bow Belt, Chanel Purse, Cuff by BEBE, and Collared Necklace from Bloomingdales.

Urvika’s ensemble: Wrap Floral Print Dress by Indian designer Piya Pauro, Fresh water pearls necklace, Brown Leather Jacket by M&M from U.K., Heels from Zara, Moschino Purse.
